The main character, Kanon Kagari, is a 4th grade elementary school boy who loves insects. He participates in the Insect Fighting Tournament, and strives every day to obtain the legendary Mushi jingi that will be lent to the winner of the annual ranking, and to shine in the title of his coveted title, "Mushinushi of Wisdom." was piling up.

Kagari Kanon
A 4th grade elementary school boy who acts as a "Mushinushi" player of Mushijingi. He usually has the impression of being kind and shy, but when he plays Mushijingi, he suddenly changes into a brave and determined atmosphere, demonstrating considerable strength, earning him the nickname "Cagalli of the Blue Flame".

Renji Ogami
A boy in the fifth grade of elementary school who sees Mushinushi the Blue Flame as his rival. Although he has a rough and violent personality, he is known for his skill in fighting insects and is known as the "Ogami of Guren". Using insects trained like an army, he specializes in thoroughly rational and super-aggressive play.

Kozuka Tengo
A young researcher of Mushi jingi in his mid-thirties. While researching the Three Sacred Treasures and insects, she is looking for a person who can communicate with insects by hosting an insect battle. He himself participates in insect battles as the "Mushi Lord" and is known as the "Tengo of Mushinushi" as the strongest class player.
